Cats are relationship goals in their purest form.

They don't rush into anything. First, they sit nearby. Then maybe they scoot a little closer. Eventually, if the vibes are right, they curl up next to you like it was always meant to happen. Nothing forced, nothing awkward, just a slow, cozy build.

Cats also love togetherness without pressure. They're perfectly happy sharing a couch, a bed, or a sunbeam without needing constant attention. Just being close is enough. That kind of quiet companionship is hard to beat.

Their affection shows up in tiny ways. A gentle head bump. A paw placed on your arm. Choosing your lap over every other option in the room. It's subtle, but it means everything.

They're great at knowing when to stay and when to give space. Some days are cuddle days. Some days are nap-on-opposite-ends-of-the-room days. Both are valid. No explanations needed.

And when a cat decides you're their person? That's it. They'll follow you around, nap near you, and look at you like you're part of their world now. Cats show us that the best relationships are built on comfort, patience, and choosing each other quietly, over and over again.

She grew up outdoors, earned her trust one slow meal at a time, and now two hopeful humans are wondering if this cautious little cat is ready to take the biggest step of her life.

This kitten been part of a neighborhood cat colony for most of her life, growing up in a warm, familiar environment where she was never truly alone. Multiple households quietly looked out for the cats, making sure they were fed and safe, and over time, these pawrents began to notice her more and more. What started as a cautious kitten keeping her distance slowly turned into something special. Little by little, she learned to trust them going from eating in front of them, accepting gentle pets, and eventually feeling safe enough to step inside a crate.

That growing bond is what made them start imagining a different future for her. They wanted to bring her inside, let her adjust at her own pace, and give her a home where she wouldn't have to rely on the elements or the safety of numbers. A vet visit confirmed she's healthy and now vaccinated, but it also introduced doubt. The suggestion that she might be better off returning to her colony planted a heavy question: is comfort found in familiarity, or in the chance for something new?

For now, she's quiet and overwhelmed, pressing herself into the back of her crate as she processes a big change. And her pawrents are doing the hardest part of loving an animal. Slowing down, watching closely, and being willing to choose her happiness over their own hopes. No matter what happens next, one thing is clear: she's already deeply cared for, and that alone has changed her world.

Winter + weekend = don't bother me I'm scrolling cat memes under the covers.

The thing about weekends is that they're your time. Your time to do whatever it is you would want to do. If you want to lay in bed for two days, no one is going to stop you. If you want to play video games on the couch while your cat watched, purring next to you, and ordering food delivery because you're too lazy to get any food yourself, then how about it! It's the best feeling to wake up without alarms, without plans, and with a whopping 48 hours to do what you want all week. The weekend in winter hits differently since a lot of people are deterred by the rain, snow, sleet, or hail to stay inside as well. And the thing about cats is that they're here to indulge in winter dreamland with you.

Cats are so multifaceted. They're chaotic, capricious, and mischievous one moment, and purring softly next to your hand, nudging you with their little heads the next. They always manage to bring a smile to our faces, even when they misbehave. For cat pawrents, going home to your little furball is one of the best feelings. Your rituals together feel like a requirement to enjoy the evening. Weekends are even more enjoyable as a cat pawrent because it means two whole days with your pookie. Even if we have a horrible day at work, or just in life in general, when we get to be with our cat we immediately feel our hearts melting. Some people never experience the joy of having a pet cat.

The love and comfort that your cat gives you carries you all weekend and in your winter wonderland. Here at I Can Has Cheezburger, cat pawrents means something more than just owning a cat. It's a commitment to being an upstanding person in society for the sake of your kitty.

Who could resist picking up this tiny gentleman?!

Remember that movie Oliver & Company? From 1988, about a little orange kitten out of a liter in New York City, but no one comes to take him from the box of free kittens. The story follows his coming of age, as he wonders the tough streets of the Big Apple, scared and helpless. He finds a dog to befriend, though it wasn't a straight and narrow path to get there. Eventually a little redhead girl adopts him. Her pretentious poodle pet has an issue, and things become tense, but it ends with everyone happy, and Oliver gets the home he always deserved, human and dog friends alike. In the story below, it starts out very similarly. The stray orange kitten was put in a box of other kittens from the same liter. Every other kitten out of the bunch was chosen, except for this handsome guy.

An excited guy who's always wanted a cat comes around and sees this little orange angel all alone. He scoops him up, feeling like he finally won the cat distribution lottery. He immediately calls him his own, but doesn't know what to actually name him. Though he dresses him in a fancy, snazzy bowtie, he seeks internet advice on what to call him. Frito, Cheddar, and Dan are all thrown out as suggestions, but you'll have to read the full story to figure out what he ends up naming the little guy. Enjoy!

With the weekend in full swing we figured it was time for a little feline levity to rejuvenate the soul and refresh the mind, which is why we put together this collection of fresh feline funnies.

Because after a week at the old grindstone, we all need a moment to step back. A moment to breath and remind ourselves that we are not working machines. If we are any kind of machines we are laughing machines, because think about it, you are only working your best if and when you are laughing.

And the only way that we know how to fully find ourselves engulfed by the beauty of feline funnies is to stick our heads into a collection of some of the newest and funniest ones around. So before you go writing off your weekend and hiding under the covers until the work week rolls around again, give this cute collection a go and see how it reshapes your pawspective of this wild world. Heck, you might find yourself filled with all sorts of feline frivolity by the end of it. Just try and abstain from climbing the curtains, chasing after birds or zoned out on zoomies around your fine dining plates.

We pledge allegiance to our feline overlords of the cat kind.

And to the treat supply for which they stand, one cheez under burger, indivisible, with catnip and tuna for all.

… is what we'd say every morning if we had an official I Can Has Cheezburger flag in the office. Because we love cats in ways that cannot be simply put into words. It's hard to convey that in text. But let's just say that we just bought 60 pounds worth of cat treats for our office cats last week, just because. It's not that they won something, but the treat prize we give them is all but a simple show of gratitude we want to express for them letting us worship them as our feline overlords. Or overladies, of course.

Look, being a cat pawrent is a dedication for life. You don't just casually adopt a cat. Sure, you might spontaneously find one in the trash behind your house, or in a bush on the way to nowhere important (all thanks to the Cat Distribution System), but you don't just casually adopt a cat into your life. When you let a floofy feline enter your life, it's never casual - it's with 100% conviction, borderline worshiping this fluffy feline creature you now have in your house.

We can never get tired of cat memes.

There's a reason why cat memes rule the internet, and seem to be every second or third piece of content you see online. And the reason is very simple - cats rule our lives. Yes, our lives in particular, but we're really not special when it comes to this. Cats are like a worshipping magnet with four paws and cattitude. We know we're all about cat content here, but are we special? Nope. So many humans worship cats - and we're not talking about the ancient Egyptians. Every person who has ever owned a cat knows how impawrtant they are. Because they quite literally become the kings and queens of your life… you puny peasant.

And that's why we would never get tired of cat memes. They are the symptom of this phenomenon, of worshipping our feline overlords. And this is exactly why we bring you the Caturday Medley every weekend - so we can all worship cats in their humorous and pixelated form of memes, but only the best of the best. The creme of the comedic cat crop that we cultivate on a weekly basis, so that we can all worship cats together.

Do you even wish you could just… make memes out of your cat and become internet famous?

We do too.

To be honest, we definitely think our cats are way too lazy to be famous internet cattos. It's not that they are not funny or cute enough to draw attention; it's just that they are only funny and cute enough for about one hour every day… We're not sure how famous we can get them when all they do is sleep, as awwdorable as that may be.

Additionally, both our cats absolutely hate it when we try to take a picture or a video of them. We don't know how they know, but they know. They could be doing the funniest thing in the world for several minutes, and as soon as we take out our phones to try and capture it, they immediately stop and give us the biggest side eye ever. Even if we are all the way across the room, they sense the camera on them, and they become statues. How can we possibly make them internet famous that way?

That being said, we do have some hissterical pictures we managed to snap over the years. If we try hard enough, we are sure we can make some really valuable memes out of those moments, if we just get creative enough. We know these memes might not make us rich and successful, but if they make at least a few strangers on the internet laugh, we would consider it a job well done.

We are sure any pet owner has a gallery filled with pictures of their pets, from awwdorable to absolutely hilarious, and we are also sure a gold meme is hiding somewhere in between all those amazing snapshops of sweet pets. If the memes down below are any indication, people all across the world can contribute their pets and some humor so they can make other people happy.

The cat memes down below might not be of famous cats like Grumpy Cat, but they are someone's pets, and they are definitely hissterical. Do yourself a favor and scroll down to enjoy them. After that, you might get inspired to create some memes yourself, and share them with the world (but share them with us first, we will be your cats' biggest fans!)

No one can come between a girl and her cat. Not even her family.

Family can be a struggle to deal with sometimes, to say the least. We've had our own fair share of problems with relatives, most of which we won't go into detail here with you, but let's just say that we know what it's like to have to fight for yourself when you and your family don't see eye to eye. Luckily, it's never been an issue with our pets, like it is in today's story. The daughter in this scenario was given a kitten by her aunt when she was 18. She raised the cat, taking care of it and taking it to the vet, and now that she's ready to move in with her fiance and out of her family's house, they're trying to keep her cat with them.

After years of complaining about how much of a hassle having a pet was, they suddenly want ownership of the cat they eventually grew to love, but it was because of the daughter that she stayed in their home. Her younger sister was able to convince her parents to side with her, so now it's the whole family versus our loving cat mom. She stood her ground, and said that she was taking her cat, 'Casper' with her. No exceptions.

Just because you're related doesn't mean you're always going to see eye to eye. At a certain point, you grow up, move out and you have to start prioritizing yourself. You know what dads love to say, "When you live under my house, you live under my rules." Well, dad, she's no longer living in your house anymore, so she gets to make her own rules. And her cat is coming with her.

Some cats are not meant to be outdoor cats, no matter how much they would like to be.

We understand that some cats need to be outdoors for their well-being. Those are cats who have been stray cats their whole lives, who feel confined and stressed when they are indoors all the time. We get it. We do. We understand that not all cats transition from being outdoor to indoor cats easily. And we think that this is a decision that has to be made for each cat like that individually and under the consultation of a good vet. Generally, we think that senior cats should be indoors, even if they had spent most of their lives outside, and that, of course, indoor cats cannot just be thrown out one day and expected to smoothly become outdoor cats.

And then there are ragdoll cats. Some cat breeds do not do well with being outside because of their breed. Ragdoll cats specifically are softer, more trusting, don't have the best survival instincts, and their furs are not very well-suited for life outside. So, it's no surprise that this one started looking for a safer place to stay, especially during the cold winter, and it is not surprising that the person she has chosen is now considering simply adopting her.

Winter is a hard time for outdoor cats. Powered entirely by cans of tuna and tufts of floof, cattos and kittens aren't even supposed to be outside when there's a blizzard. In fact, as all cat lovers know, it's a cats meowral obligation—no, their duty—to curl up on their favorite chair by the fireplace. Even when the hoomans have to motivate themselves to go to work during a big snowstorm, cats owe it to their families to enjoy the comfort and warmth of the inside.

But what about all of the stays and the forlorn felines trapped outside?

Although they are natural-born survivors and predators in their own right, cats are still precious little babies. Especially with a midwestern cold front blowing in from the north, outdoor cats are particularly vulnerable, licking their toe-beans to keep warm and curling into a cinnamon roll of fluff to conserve warmth. If they're lucky, strays will hunker down and find shelter during the coldest nights, but when this smol, clumsy kitten got stuck in a too-small hole in a fence, their shelter options plummeted to zero. And as the temperature dipped, so did their chances of surviving an incoming blizzard.

How does one measure the cuteness of a cat? Do you pull out a ruler and measure their whiskers' wingspan? Do you make sure that their toebeans are smooth and moisturized? Maybe you look into their beady, heartwarming eyes and take a second to think about how it makes you feel.

That was a trick question. Feline fanatics know that every cat is cute in their own way, period. The way they sashay about the house as if they're the ones paying the mortgage… The manner in which they eat food, and somehow, manage to make multiple pieces fly out of their mouths at lightning speed. Everything about them screams, "Please, pet me!"

If you're having a rather difficult hoomanly day today, you might benefit from some hissterical feline humor. You may want to consider scrolling below to curb that cuteness craving we all know you've been having. Don't worry, we won't tell anyone!
